Redsticks Expect Barber To Be Defensive Leader
BATON ROUGE, LA-- The Baton Rouge Redsticks have agreed to terms with former Middle Tennessee State University linebacker T.T. Barber for the upcoming season. The former All-CUSA defender agreed to a multi-year agreement with Redsticks.
Barber (6'1", 233, Middle Tennessee State) will lead a talented Redsticks defensive group. Joining Barber on the defensive side will be former Texas A&M defensive end Gavin Stansbury and former LSU defensive end Travonte Valentine.
As a collegiate player, Barber would earn All-Conference honors for two consecutive seasons, and some observers would argue he's one of the school's greatest defensive players. The south Georgia native finished his collegiate career with over 300 career tackles helping the Blue Raiders make multiple bowl games.
As the middle linebacker in the Redsticks defense, Barber will be the centerpiece getting both the defensive front and defensive secondary to gel. The Redsticks will attempt to slow down the explosive playmakers in the western conference southern division. The Mississippi Mudcats will feature former Mississippi State receiver Jameon Lewis, and the Houston Bighorns will be feeding Marrietta College's all-time leading rusher Roger Walker.
Look for the Barber to compile over 100 tackles this season for the Redsticks as they strive to win the division.
